Our youth join the summer after 5th grade to begin a 12-year relationship with Seven Tepees Youth Program.

Our youth

Most students enter Seven Tepees in the summer after 5th grade; they are asked to commit to the program through high school and beyond. These 12 years span the developmentally critical transitions from elementary school to middle school; middle school to high school; and high school to postsecondary education or the job market.

Students are referred to the program by public school counselors, teachers, and social workers.

  • 100% of Learning Center youth are low income
  • 95% are Latino/Chicano and/or African American
  • Reside in some of San Francisco's most challenged neighborhoods: Bayview/Hunter's Point, Mission District, Potrero Hill and the Tenderloin.

All youth participate in the program free of charge.
